Just For U

Posted in On Notice with tags , , , on March 29, 2012 by jazner

SMOOTH STRING STREAM served up today by Andrés, who recently released the New For U EP, marking the first in the catalog for La Vida records.

Andrés aka Dez Andres, a staple in the Detroit scene who’s worked with KDJ and Mahogani, gives us the upbeat house track “New For U” equipped with melodic string samples and wooing Rhodes chords with a strong kick thrust that’ll leave you mesmerized on the dance-floor.

Sitting atop Mano Le Tough’s Resident Advisor April 2012 chart, Andrés definitely brings the heat on this one. Go cop a copy.

Jamie Grind – “We Still Play 140”

(via Boiler Room)

TIME TO SHAKE from the weekend daze and dive head first into the Monday grind, and who better to facilitate the tranisition than Leeds born producer Jamie Grind, who just released a split with Kingthing, Infra12005, on Infrasonics.

“We Still Play 140” provides a necessary upbeat jolt, an electrifying bass line shaking your eardrums from their doldrums while the drum beat and crisp hi-hat snaps are likely to put a swinging kick to to your step.

The whole EP is stellar, and you can stream snippets below. Grind’s other track, “For You”, maintains the same tempo, with a velvety smooth synth line and pitched up r n’ b vocal yowl setting the table for multiple revisits. Kingthing’s contributions are just as memorable, the slogging 808 funk of “Waking Up” and body moving “Cold Diss” rounding out this Infrasonic release right.

Git yr week started right, grab yr copy here.

SERIOUSLY ADDICTED TO this tune, it’s a rip that’ll get you ripped. and now we’ve got the official video to groove to.

After dropping one of 2011’s hardest tracks in “Bax“, Mosca, the newest member of the BBC’s In New DJs We Trust program alongside Julio Bashmore, is prepping his latest release to drop in May on Hypercolour, a label that’s been killing it recently and is up there as one of jazner‘s top imprints.

“Eva Mendes” is the first cut available, a thumping shoulder shaker with siren synths luring you into a magnetic big room groove along with a throttling beat that forces you to let loose on the dance-floor. With a name like that, there are high expectations, and Mosca goes above and beyond to make this track irresistible.

Git into this one, again, again & again. Looking forward to this May release and all the rest Hypercolour has to offer.

Galaxy Groovin

(via FACT)

JUST A TEASE of what’s to come from Nottingham’s Matt Culter, otherwise known as Lone, who’s prepping a big release this year on R&S, Galaxy Garden, the follow-up to his Emerald Fantasy Tracks LP.

Konx-Om-Pax provides the visuals, inducing flashbacks of watching Planet Earth dosed on MDMA, with floating jellies wiling out to nite glo black light landscapes. The backing track, “Crystal Caverns 1991”, definitely has an early breakbeat rave feel to it, balanced with diamond synth tones,  watery fluidity, and some tropical swing flavors atop for a lil extra bounce.

Stream “Crystal Caverns 1991” below and stay tuned for Galaxy Garden to drop May 5th.

VIDEO DOUBLE DOSE today, the second screening coming from Mi Ami, the duo of jazner favorites Daniel Martin-McCormick and Damon Palermo, otherwise known as Ital and Magic Touch, respectively.

“Time Of Love”, a slow burner hypnotic house jam directed by Luke Wyatt, is off the latest 100% Silk LP offering, Decadeonly available as CD now but vinyl is on the way.

As the credits suggest, it’s most definitely video mulch, as is only proper coming from 100% Silk. 150 jazner points goes to the first person able to identify the video’s source material.

Let’s get weird 2gthr.

Eastern Ghetto

AS IF BEING a beautiful Russian producer straddling a chair in leopard print spandex would garner enough attention for a post on this site, albeit nearly a month after the video debuts.

Regardless, the Russian deep house bass queen Nina Kraviz is locked in with her video “Ghetto Kraviz”, directed by David Terranova, the leading single off both her debut Nina Kraviz LP on Rekids and title track EP.

Already battling a crush for Maya Jane Coles, Nina Kraviz comes along with this fiery late night anthem, with monotone, lustful vocals and guttural bass blams serving a perfect recipe for midnight delight.

Peep the video above and hop over to the Rekids site for more on the Moscow producer. And for all the Bay Area peeps, be sure to go to Icee Hot March 24th at Public Works for Kraviz, MikeQ and more.
